18 - Pregnant With Purpose

What does it mean to be pregnant with purpose? To me, it’s being at the very edge of a dream, so close you can see it, but not quite holding it yet.

The ninth month of pregnancy is the longest month of your life.  You’re uncomfortable, impatient, and excited all at the same time. You’ve endured a marathon, and now you’re ready to meet this sweet baby you’ve been carrying all along.

For me, I remember the ninth month going so slowly.

Dreams feel the same in their final stretch. We’re so close to the finish line and then it feels like everything goes into slow motion.

The ninth month of a dream, a.k.a., the last chapter requires that we dig deep and keep fighting forward. This is tough when discouragement or other defeating thoughts comes into play. And they will in the last push to the finish line. You will be tempted to question whether or not this “thing” will even work out and if it’s even worth it.

Don’t fall back in this last round before the finish and let all your hard work fade away. You will give birth to this baby - your dream. You will get to see the fruit of your labor. You just have to keep doing what you’ve been doing, which in its simplest form, is simply putting one foot in front of the other — making progress, even if it’s small.

Being pregnant with purpose is a blessing - but it’s also a call to persevere. When it seems like your dream is taking forever to manifest, adjust your view and stay focused. You’re better served by focus than you are on exasperation over the timeline.

I get the natural inclination to be tired in this last phase of walking out your dream, but you have this beautiful thing coming that will be all worth the wait.

Who you’re becoming in the process is well worth the time, effort, and energy you’re pouring out.

Your dream is unfolding, and your transformation is too.
