19 - Stuck, Striving, and Still Moving Forward
When we see other people’s success when we’re in the middle of our own unsuccessful launch it can feel like they have something we don’t.
We’ve been around the block long enough to know this isn’t logically true, but it certainly feels like it when years of evidence is piled up against us in the form of one failed attempt after another.
Our mind can become the devil’s playground if we buy into lies like this.
The truth is that you have what it takes to keep taking the next step and that’s often all you have when you’re walking out a dream. Maybe you do have the full vision or blueprint. If that’s the case, that’s awesome! If not, be intentional not to let that hinder your progress by getting stuck on what hasn’t transpired yet and what you don’t know.
In this moment, you may not feel the sweetness of success, but what’s more important is that you have the ability to stay focused and keep trekking onward.
I know this because I’ve experienced many seasons of isolation where everyone else around me appeared to be thriving, while I felt stuck with nothing to show for all my effort.
I have wasted so much valuable time trying to figure out why my journey has felt so stymied and full of obstacles. It's not something I care to do anymore. The Lord has me in a season of being present and looking forward. Evaluating the past has a purpose and place, but there’s also a time to be cocooned in a zone of laser focus. Maybe in the future He will have me revisit those past focused questions, but for now I know His leading is to keep moving.
